  • The Job Shadow Coalition   has made available a variety of materials to assist employers, teachers, and students in having a productive and fulfilling job shadowing program.
  • The  Campaign for Nursing's Future  is a nationwide initiative developed ed by the Johnson & Johnson company in support of the nursing profession. Included in the initiative are nationwide television and print ads saluting America's nurses, honoring their contributions, and recruiting new people into the profession; the web site,  Discover Nursing , where students can find information on becoming a nurse, find a nursing program that's right for them, search the largest database of nursing scholarships on the web, and find links to major nursing organization sites; and scholarship grants to several nursing organizations to qualified candidates pursuing a nursing degree or to qualified nurses interested in obtaining a Master's or Doctorate so that they can become nurse educators.

  • The Department of Labor's  Career Voyages Website allows anyone to start exploring career options - whether they are in high school, have graduated, have a vocational certificate, have a 2-year or 4-year college degree, or have knowledge and skills acquired through training centers, on-the-job training, or work experience.

  • The  Guide for Recruiting Students into Health Careers,   a 103-page manual developed by the GHA Manpower Task Force, provides basic guidelines a hospital may follow to begin their preparation and presentation on health careers to grades K-12; plus current tools, information, best practice models, and available resources on health careers.

  • The Kids Into Health Careers website, developed by HRSA includes resources to teach kid about the opportunities in health care, the types of jobs available, and available financial assistance.

  • My First Day.org
    This website provides an electronic clearinghouse of free or inexpensive health career promotional material. The site features six priority careers with information for students, career changers and career counselors.
     
  • The National Institutes of Health (NIH), Office of Science Education Web site,   "LifeWorks," explores more than 100 careers in the health and medical sciences. The site is designed as a resource for middle school and high school students, parents, educators, and school guidance/career counselors to explore the diversity of careers in the field.

  • Nurses for a Healthier Tomorrow
    Nurses for a Healthier Tomorrow (NHT) is a coalition of 42 nursing and health care organizations working together to wage a communications campaign to attract people to the nursing profession.
     
  • Nursing: The Power to Make a Difference  is a campaign developed by the North Carolina Center for Nursing is to promote awareness of and “spark an interest” in nursing careers among youth and minorities. Research demonstrates today’s youth enter nursing for the same reason nurses in the past have chosen nursing: which is to help people or make a difference in people’s lives.

  • Involving Parents & Families in Career Pathway Programs
    Successful career pathways and academies have parent involvement. Obtaining that involvement is not always as simple as it may sound. This document contains strategies and resources to help in parent and family involvement.
     
  • Punjabi for Health-Care Workers
    This handbook is designed to provide health-care providers with basic Punjabi words and phrases to enable them to begin the process of communicating with their patients from India. Additionally, the handbook provides some information on how to work effectively with clients from other cultures, followed by background information on India to help the health-care provider understand the culture that has shaped their Indian clients.
     
  • Spanish for Health Care Workers
    Increasing numbers of California patients, family members, and health care workers have limited proficiency in English. To ensure adequate care and treatment, health care workers must be able to communicate basic phrases to the patient and/or the family member. "Spanish for Health Care Workers" has been designed to help students involved in health careers education achieve this goal.
